Kamel Ride – Driver Community Standards
Last updated: March 24, 2024
At Kamel Ride, we’re building a community of drivers who care — not just about cost-sharing, but about helping classmates, coworkers, and fellow travelers move around more easily, safely, and comfortably.
These community standards outline the expectations we have for all Drivers using our platform.
Treat Everyone with Respect
Kindness matters. Whether you’re chatting with a Rider or messaging someone about a ride, professionalism and courtesy are always expected. No harassment, offensive language, or inappropriate behavior — ever.
You’re representing your community, and we ask that you uphold the values of inclusion, dignity, and mutual respect.
Be On Time
Being punctual builds trust and helps ensure smooth trips for everyone.
- Aim to arrive at the pickup location on or before the agreed time.
- Greet your Rider and confirm their name before they enter your car.
- Only pick up passengers listed in your Kamel Ride trip — no surprise guests.
- If you change vehicles, update your ride post and let your Rider know in advance.
Drive Safely — No Distractions
Safety is your #1 responsibility once someone’s in your car.
- Follow all local traffic laws.
- Never use your phone to text, scroll, or watch content while driving.
- If using navigation, keep it mounted and hands-free.
- Keep music at a reasonable level and avoid eating or smoking while driving.
- We reserve the right to remove drivers who engage in unsafe or illegal behavior behind the wheel.
Respect Personal Space
Some Riders enjoy conversation. Others want a quiet ride.
- Take cues from your passenger and follow their lead.
- Avoid sensitive or controversial topics.
- Refrain from commenting on personal appearance, gender, or private life.
- No flirting or physical contact of any kind.
- All conversations should remain friendly, appropriate, and optional.
Recording Devices
If your car has a dash cam or audio/video recording device, you must inform your Rider before the trip begins. Consent and transparency are key.
Breaks & Stops
On longer trips, quick breaks may be needed.
- Let Riders know if you plan to stop.
- Try to accommodate their needs within reason.
- If a Rider requests a stop (bathroom, snack, etc.), be courteous.
- Keep communication open, and keep the trip on track.
Agreed Pickup & Drop-off Locations
All Kamel Ride pickups and drop-offs should happen at the locations specified in the booking or agreed upon with the Rider ahead of time. This helps everyone stay safe and on the same page.
No Smoking or Drinking
Smoking, vaping, or having open containers of alcohol is strictly prohibited while driving with Kamel Ride.
After the Ride Ends
All contact with Riders should end once the ride is complete. Do not follow up, message, or attempt to engage after drop-off unless it’s about a forgotten item.
Sexual Misconduct Policy
Zero tolerance.
Sexual misconduct includes any behavior — verbal, physical, or implied — that makes someone feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Examples:
- Making comments about someone’s appearance or relationships
- Asking intrusive personal questions
- Unwanted touching, staring, winking, or flirting
- Making jokes or remarks of a sexual nature
- Any sexual contact or suggestion before, during, or after a trip
Breaking this policy will result in immediate removal from Kamel Ride and may lead to legal action.
Anti-Discrimination Commitment
Kamel Ride prohibits discrimination based on race, religion, national origin, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, or any other protected class.
Refusing service, canceling a ride, or treating someone differently based on any of these traits is a violation of our platform values — and may result in permanent suspension.
Consequences for Policy Violations
Kamel Ride reserves the right to:
- Cancel your ride without pay
- Suspend or remove your account
- Withhold payment or tips
- Investigate safety-related incidents
- Report serious misconduct to legal authorities
We’re here to protect Riders and Drivers — so if something happens, report it immediately through the app or email us at [email protected].
Final Notes
These standards are built to help you succeed, earn trust, and feel confident every time you post a ride. When in doubt, ask yourself:
“Would I feel safe, respected, and comfortable if I were the Rider?”
If the answer is yes, you’re doing great.
