Ted Lim Mobility LLC (“Kamel Ride,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Kamel Ride mobile application (the “App”), a community-driven ridesharing platform that helps Riders connect with Drivers for pre-planned intercity travel. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information through this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use the App or any services provided through it (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using Kamel Ride, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App or Services.

 
2. Information We Collect

We collect both personal and non-personal information from and about users of our Services.

a. Personal Information

This may include:

Name
Email address
Phone number
Payment information (processed securely via Stripe)
Profile information (photo, university affiliation, etc.)
Communication between Riders and Drivers (chat or ride requests)
We only collect personal information when you voluntarily provide it during account creation, booking, or while using the App.

Note: We do not currently collect driver’s license or insurance documents. We may add those requirements in the future.

b. Non-Personal Information

This includes:

Device type and operating system
App version
Language and time zone
General usage patterns (e.g. how you navigate the App)
 
3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Operate, maintain, and improve the App and its features
Facilitate ride connections between Drivers and Riders
Process payments via third-party platforms (e.g., Stripe)
Communicate with you about bookings, changes, or updates
Respond to support requests and feedback
Enforce community standards and terms of service
Prevent fraud or abuse
 
4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

We may share limited user information in the following cases:

With other users (e.g., when you request or accept a ride, your name, school/workplace, and photo may be visible)
With third-party service providers (e.g., Stripe for payments)
If required by law or legal process
To investigate or respond to potential violations of our Terms of Service or harmful activity
 
5. Use of Stripe and Third-Party Tools

Kamel Ride uses Stripe to handle payments. We do not store your full credit card information. Stripe handles and stores your data in accordance with their own privacy policy.

We may also use third-party tools for analytics or push notifications in the future, and this policy will be updated accordingly.

 
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We may use cookies or similar tools to:

Keep you logged in
Improve functionality
Analyze aggregate user behavior
You can disable cookies in your browser, but doing so may affect how the App works.

Update or correct your personal information through your profile

We use industry-standard security measures (including encryption via SSL) to protect your information. However, no system is 100% secure. You use the App and Services at your own risk, and we recommend you keep your password confidential.

 
9. Image Collection and Use

If you upload a profile photo or share images within the app:

They may be visible to other users (e.g., for trust-based matching)
We may use images for safety or quality assurance (e.g., in case of reports)
We do not access your camera or store additional images without your consent
We do not capture video or images without your action.

 
10. Age Restrictions and Children’s Privacy

Kamel Ride is only intended for individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.

By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from someone under 18, we will delete that information promptly.

 
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or email. Continued use of the Services after a change constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
