KAMEL RIDE PRIVACY POLICY

1. OVERVIEW
Ted Lim Mobility LLC (“Kamel Ride,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates a community-driven ride coordination platform that helps Riders connect with Drivers for pre-planned intercity travel in the United States. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your information.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our website and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By using Kamel Ride, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information you provide directly to us. We do not collect precise device location and we do not operate a native mobile app at this time.

2.1 Personal Information You Provide
Required to create or maintain an account and use core features:
• Name
• Date of birth
• Pronouns
• Phone number

Optional profile fields (you choose whether to provide):
• Profile picture
• Bio
• Vehicle type
• Ride preferences
• Social media links (Instagram, LinkedIn)
• School email (for school-domain verification, if you opt to verify)

Driver Verification (optional):
Drivers may voluntarily submit their driver’s license and vehicle insurance information to obtain “Verified Driver” status. Kamel Ride personnel manually review these documents solely to confirm that they appear valid.

We do not conduct background checks, criminal history checks, DMV/driving history checks, or automated verification using third-party vendors.

Drivers may remove their verification documents at any time by contacting [email protected].

By voluntarily uploading driver verification documents, you consent to Kamel Ride’s storage and review of these documents for the purpose of determining “Verified Driver” status.

2.2 Payment Information
• All payment and payout information—including card details, bank account information, and Driver KYC data—is collected and stored by Stripe, not by Kamel Ride.
• Kamel Ride does not store your full payment card or bank account numbers.

2.3 Communications
• Email and phone: we receive the email address and phone number you provide.
• In-app/site chat: If/when chat/messaging is enabled, Kamel Ride may process and store messages for safety, support, and trust.

2.4 Technical/Usage Information
Because we do not operate a native mobile app, we do not collect mobile device OS, advertising IDs, or precise GPS data. Our website may collect basic, non-identifying usage information such as:
• Browser type, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, and timestamps
• IP address (standard web server logs)
We do not use this information to identify you, and we do not collect precise geolocation.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information to:
• Create and manage accounts and profiles
• Facilitate ride coordination and user discovery
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Services (including safety and abuse prevention)
• Process payments and Driver payouts through Stripe
• Communicate with you (account notices, trip updates, support)
• Enforce our Terms of Service and community standards
• Comply with law and respond to lawful requests

We use school-domain email sign-ups only to help confirm association with a school (if you choose to verify). We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. SHARING YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only as described below:
• Stripe (payments and payouts): To process Rider payments and Driver payouts. Stripe stores and secures payment credentials and Driver KYC details.
• Service providers/Processors (limited): We may use vendors for hosting, storage, support, or analytics (e.g., Firebase/Google Cloud) under contracts that limit their use of your data to providing services to us.
• Other users: When you interact (e.g., book a seat or post a ride), limited profile info you’ve chosen to provide (such as name and optional photo/school domain) may be visible to matched users to support trust and coordination.
• Legal and safety: To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, or protect rights, safety, and property.
• Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
• We do not share driver license images, insurance documents, or any sensitive verification materials with other users. Only general verification indicators (e.g., “Verified Driver”) may be shown publicly.
• We do not make representations regarding the authenticity or accuracy of any driver verification documents. Verification is based solely on the materials submitted by the Driver and is not equivalent to a government, DMV, or background check.

5. PAYMENTS AND STRIPE
• Kamel Ride uses Stripe to accept Rider payments and to disburse payouts to Drivers via Stripe Connect (Standard). All card and bank details, as well as Driver payout identity/KYC information, are handled by Stripe and stored by Stripe—not by Kamel Ride.
• Refunds/adjustments: In special situations, users can email [email protected] to request a refund; when approved, we process the refund via Stripe.

6. COOKIES AND WEBSITE TRACKING
Our website may use essential cookies or similar technologies to:
• Keep you signed in and enable core features
• Improve functionality and measure aggregate usage

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit functionality. We do not use cookies for targeted advertising.

7. DATA SECURITY
We use reasonable and appropriate safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit (TLS). No security method is perfect; you use the Services at your own risk. Please keep your account credentials confidential and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

Hosting/Infrastructure:
• Firebase Authentication (U.S. region) for login only
• Internal Kamel Ride Database for ride data, chat, and verification documents

We do not use Firebase Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, or Hosting.

8. YOUR PRIVACY CHOICES AND RIGHTS

You may request:
• Access to your information
• Correction of inaccurate information
• Deletion of your data
by emailing [email protected].

You may opt out of marketing emails at any time (transactional emails cannot be disabled).

Account deletion requests may require retention of certain data for legal or fraud-prevention purposes.

9. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy:

• Ride records: 5 years
• Driver verification documents: 24 months after removal or account deletion
• Support requests: 12 months
• Chat logs: 12 months
• Payment/payout records: As required by Stripe and financial regulations
• Fraud or safety-related data: Retained longer as necessary to comply with law or protect users

10. CHILDREN AND MINORS
Kamel Ride is for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn a user is under 18, we will delete the data.

11. “DO NOT SELL/SHARE” (U.S. STATE LAWS)
We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by applicable U.S. state privacy laws.

12. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be announced by email or in-product notice prior to taking effect. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.
